Our Farm

Since our mission is focused on mares and foals, we designed our barn and pasture complex to facilitate our efforts to raise world class horses. Our indoor facility is comprised of five separate sections - all connected and interactive:

Cold BarnCold Barn - Just as the name implies, this section is not insulated and we do not heat it. It is a complex of 7 - 12 x 12 stalls with the ability to remove stall walls to make 3 - 12 x 24 foaling stalls. While we believe it is best for the mares and foals to be in cool temperatures we do have infrared heaters mounted overhead for the babies and mares for those really cold Indiana winter days and nights. Two of the stalls have direct turnout into our covered/inside pen.
We utilize both video cameras and “Foal Alert” transmitters to notify us of impending foaling events.

Warm Barn - This section of 5 - 12 x 12 stalls is heated and serves as our show barn. We maintain a 70 degree environment at all times utilizing ventilation fans and controls which exchange the air at 128 cubic feet per minute. It includes a 12 x 12 wash stall area with warm water.  We maintain our show horses under controlled lights year round

Vet Area - This section contains our stocks, a grooming and shoeing area and a 12 x 24 quarantine stall which can be used as a stallion stall as well. We also have the ability as needed to heat this area during the cold months. Our vet and farrier are quite fond of this feature! This area also has a direct turnout to the covered/inside pen.

Mare Barn - This barn serves as the name implies. It contains 5 - 12 x 24 foaling stalls including infrared heaters. This area also includes our tack room with direct access out to our round pen and 80 x 180 outdoor riding pen. This  section is insulated but is not heated, in general. However we, have installed automatic heated waterers for the winter temperatures. We have another 12 x 12 stall in this area which serves as an overflow stall and a hay staging area.
Our entire complex, including the covered/inside turnout pen, is controlled by timers to manage our daylight cycles. Our mares are placed under lights starting November 15th each year.

Our outdoor facilities are also set up to accommodate our mares and foals with direct and controlled access to grass paddocks.  As weather permits, we turnout mares and foals each day depending on age and weather conditions.  We have 4 dry lot turnouts and 6 turnout pastures of approximately 2 acres each in addition to a 10 acre mare pasture.  All of these areas are interconnected for management purposes.  Each of the pasture turnouts have heated automatic watering systems.  As mentioned earlier, we also have a lighted, 80 x 180 outside riding pen as well as a 45 ft round pen.
